Dr. William Vizuete is an associate professor in the environmental
sciences and engineering department at the Gillings School of Global
Public Health. Dr. Vizuete uses high performance computers and three
dimensional models to simulate the atmosphere and work to improve our
understanding of the formation of atmospheric air pollution. He is
also director of the Master of Science in Environmental Engineering
program where they offer a one or two year program that provides
students with the vital skills and training in air quality and
sustainable water resources needed to solve today’s environmental
engineering and public health problems. Dr. Vizuete will plan on
describing the research occurring in the department and his own work
on air quality work in developing and applying regulatory models.
